i have come across this hack nearly every alliance i have faced theres always one who is using this,the guy im fighting now has had his gates full of colossus than none then full again then none then full again 7 times in the last hour will it ever be patched you did state a while ago that you were going to keep on top of the hacks what happened ?

They used to be able to do this already, but they fixed it

It looks like the only hack they finally blocked was the worker hack. But that only works until the excess workers finish the upgrades they were working on and disappear. Once the excess workers finish the upgrades, the hackers can access that colony once again and build away. Not really a patch, just a temporary block on that colony.

Other than the aforementioned simple backend server check on the number of workers (which is simple to put in place) no other hack patches have been put in place for over a month.

Keep waiting... maybe Santa Claus will bring us our long awaited gifts!!!

Hightek's post: What he's said is what is actually implemented to patch hacks. What he's said is spot on, and does happen.

Geoffs: I've also proposed many times resetting accounts to lvl 1 and keeping the purchased items.. buuttt.. it can't happen. There's too much complexy type stuff (So I'm told) around this, with regards to legal issues and technical issues. The same goes for 2nd warning then banning. As much as I, Chico and the entire team would love to permanently ban these people - what the lawyers say about it treat as 'final'. Permanent banning can't be done, only patching up the holes.
Sorry I can't bring any good news on this, I do agree with your posts - (if anything, blame the lawyers). I would expect of any company that their terms and conditions would be enforced and terminate access to people who don't wish to follow it fairly.

Thanks for the update, but that sucks. Now what's legally considered "permanent"? Could you guys ban them for a year? Even 6 months would be enough to make most people forget about a Facebook game.

Also, could we please get an explanation on what actually happens when the Luck Norris traps catch a build cheater? Do they get banned, or just prevented from doing logging in until the builds finish? If it's the second, it's no penalty at all.

We all hate lawyers... that's a given!

So if I'm interpreting your reply correctly, this is what I undersatnd.

1. DC will always need us to report hackers... can't just enjoy the game because we have to take time and effort out of our schedule to gather evidence and report them and maybe they'll get a 2 week ban, but never get permanently banned no matter what because the lawyers say so.

I will not report another hacker ever again. Not worth my time and effort anymore!
Why would I want to continue being frustrated day in and day out?

2. Since time will continue to go pass by at a fast rate, (more than 6 months now that hackers started ruining this game with ZERO resolution in sight) we can't honestly expect any protection or safeguards to the problem for at least another 6 months. I'm not waiting until Christmas!

Unless something drastic happens in the very near future, this will be my final post on this forum!

Permananat is well... Permanant.. Complete terminated indefinitely. I have also proposed in the past automatic bans upon detection for hacking by the system (rather than waiting for wave bans), as well as longer sentences for hacking but nothing has come of it since I'm afraid.

edit: although I'm not 100% sure, if they're caught they should receive a week or so ban. I'll check though tomorrow... Or today for that matter (12 past midnight win)

It's sad that you want to leave; you have been and still are an awesome member of our community. You've had more than enough patience for DC, I would have given up long ago. I'll ask tomorrow about the current progress on the next ban wave and the next hack patch, although I may not be able to announce anything.

I don't usually defend DC when it comes to the hacking issues, but I can say at this stage DC with GL have patched an awful lot of holes and caused the hackers an awful lot of work, currently there is no super soldier hack working that doesn't have major bugs in it. or they aren't working at all. There are still super bunkers and dropping troops onto buildings (I'm not totally convinced this is a hack and not a replay bug). That being said, the replay bug is in fact REAL, and it is brutally wrong in many cases. I threw out a member on my alliance after watching a replay where the Starlinators were shooting buildings from halfway across the base. The person made such a fuss about it I decided to rewatch it, and on the second viewing there wasn't a starlinator in sight...they weren't even there, so I watched it a third time, and the Starlinators were there but everything was normal, proper distance lots of them and they were destroying the base in question. Cut to ...member re-instated.

I was also lightly suggested of cheating when we had a war with the Hell hounds shortly after being given a whole bunch of chips from DC for something unrelated to this comment, so I used Rocks to kill bunkers for everyone I attacked and then cleaned up the bases with a follow-up wave of colossus in every case. One member of the Hell hounds made a comment that it was his dream (or something silly) to get attacked by me, but low and behold when he watched his replay, it shows his troops easily fending off my troops...well this never happened, I used boulders on everyone, and after that each base was a cakewalk. So this fellow probably to this day thinks I did something to cheat, however this is not the case. I have a friend in the hounds that shared this conversation with me because it directly affected me (Otherwise I would not have known any of what goes on in there).

All I'm saying is that there are hacks some are real, and they have taken care of an awful lot of them, and some which are fabricated because the replay just outright sucks at the truth sometimes. Probably more often than not, people believe there was cheating going on when it buggers up.

I'm done, just don't make any rash decisions without considering all that has happened and other problems that exist. I enjoy reading most of your posts you usually have a great deal to offer, it would be a shame to see them disappear.
