Howdy Everyone
Currently the team is working on localizing the game in few languages. Once this is completed then the team will work on the updates. New missions take a lot of time to develop, but will eventually be released.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Sheriff , so the teams adding some different languages and when that's finished they'll start working on missions etc which will take a lot of time.. So it sounds like a couple months break from playing boomtown might be a good idea for those who are impatiently waiting.![]()
Boomtown : BLOCKED Sad to say but this game ends around level 80 to 100

I would have said this sounds like a Gunshine/Zombies Online move...but at least they are working on some aspect of the game and not abandoning it for (cough-Battle Buddies-cough) as when this little tidbit finally came out they lost a %^&*ton of great longtime players.
So option A is keeping current players happy and updating...option B is abandoning longtime existing players and solely dragging new ones in (or hoping to)...this means once the language support is done, no other work needs to be done on updates as it takes a while to beat the game. Then if they get bored enough they will update a few months down the line. Why not choose option C...make everyone happy at once, re-hash some missions with a twist to keep people coming back or better yet, water effects! Different building choices! New crops! The only thing is option C would be done by people who care about the game and their existing/future players...so I'm not expecting that to be done.
That being said, once I get the tournament win mission done, I'm taking time off...my town can survive on its own for now. I'm ready for torchlight 2, just saying...

I miss Playing Boomtown ,but by the looks of the bugs that are in this game the Devs should be trying to fix these NOT adding new languages .. I think blocking it was a smart move on my part for now

The Darn Connection Error is fixed now. Check your game now!
As much as I appreciate all the hard work DC's staff puts into Boomtown, I think I would feel a little more satisfied when 'corrections' and 'updates' included an explaination of what the problem was and how it was 'fixed'.
Personnally I believe the recent 'connection errors' are caused by overloaded DC servers as a result of the increase in player traffic created by the excitment around 'tournaments'... I suspect that many players that were only logging in every day or two are now logging in 3 or 6 or 9 times a day to improve they weekly stats and the extra traffic was 'killing' the game for everyone (not enough bandwidth to handle the increase in player traffic).
I haven't seen this 'theory' posted, but if it is the 'real problem' DC will need to make a major investment in bandwidth and/or equipment, or the players will have to wait until the majority of players quit so the few remaining are able to get more regular access to the game through the existing bandwith. In other words, player fustration is a direct result of DC's success at developing and promoting an exciting, interesting game! ... or so I suppose
If this were the 'real problem' then telling the players that DC can't handle the increase in traffic, and what & when & how, or if, DC has plans to correct this 'bug' (???) would do a lot to appease us blood-thirsty players... maybe even help tone down some of the rhetoric I am seeing recently (most of us use to be polite and appreviative DC's free games).
Thank You again for a great free game!It has been a lot of fun... while it was working [sigh].
